FOREST AT NIGHT

The project “Forest at Night” is a multidisciplinary installation encompassing paintings, sculptures, and poetry, all set against a vivid blue wall reminiscent of the facades of Caribbean houses from Thaiz’s youth. Inspired by the German forest, twisting forms of trees inand their resemblance to the human body, Thaiz delves into the interplay between personal immigrant identity and nature. Her work weaves themes of the Anthropocene, mythology, fairy tales, spirituality, and the essence of womanhood threads that continue to shape her artistic practice today.

Winner installation, The President's Fine Arts Award 2021.
